shelley torgerson [the blog] bio picture
  • This blog will chronicle both my personal and professional life.  My favorite blogs are always the ones that include both.  The story is so much better when you know something about the person who is telling it.  If you're not interested in the details or I'm babbling too much, the nice thing is that the most important part of these stories are the photos. For those of you who don't want to read you can just check out the fun stuff, the pictures themselves.

If you see something you like or don't like or have a question, leave me a comment.  It's nice to know you're out there!

Thanks for stopping by, if you enjoy my work half as much as I enjoy creating then I think we've got a good thing going.

    Enjoy!

Halloween for Thanksgiving

I think that if you’re keeping score, I may have missed a day or two of posting:)   Right now, I’m making my first ever homemade Apple Crumble pie from scratch.   While it’s baking I figured that since it’s Thanksgiving, it’s about time I posted these Halloween pics of my niece and nephew.  It can count as a Thanksgiving post because Braylin and William are definitely two of the people I am most thankful for.  Along with my family (that includes you Lucy, Murphy, Oden, Mugsy, and Loki) and my amazing friends, I also have extra to be thankful for this year as this is my first Thanksgiving as a married woman!  Thank you Timmey, for being such an amazingly supportive husband who always believes that I can do anything, even when I doubt myself, you never do. Oh, and I cannot forget that I had the most amazing wedding!  I am so thankful for that amazing trip and to everyone who was able to join us!  Okay, before I go on forever with all of my thankfulness, here are the cutest kids ever!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Two days in a row?!?!

Yes my faithful 3 readers, (are there that many of you?) I am blogging for the second day in a row!  Whoo-hoo, I think we’re on a roll.  This is gonna be a quicky cause I just got home from work and need to take the dogs for a walk before meeting the in-laws for dinner.

The first pic in yesterday’s post of Beth is one I love.   I find that very often when I love a picture I have a hard time processing it because I like it so many different ways.  It’s not that I have a hard time because nothing looks good, I have a hard time because they all look good and I make myself crazy!  Yesterday I kept swapping out the version #1 below with version #2  over and over again because I couldn’t decide which I liked better.  I really like the soft dreamy look of the first one, but I also love the sharp colorful look of the second.  In the end I ended up deciding on the soft, dreamy look, but I’m curious, what do you guys think?  If you don’t mind, leave me a comment below and let me know.  Til tomorrow!

Aaron & Beth Wedding Sneak Peek || detroit wedding photographer.

You may have noticed that my last few blog posts have been sneak peeks and not full posts.  I have quite a few events that I am working on simultaneously, but I want for everyone to get at least one peek at themselves.   I know it may not seem like it, but I still have not given up on my goal of blogging everyday. Personally, I follow many blogs and I know I hate it when my favorite ones aren’t updated regularly.  How much do I suck?  Doing exactly what I hate…ok, note to self… must work harder at setting aside time to blog.  (and I promise I will get a peek of my own wedding up soon, thank you to the people have been asking!)

so getting on with it…here are Aaron & Beth, they were married at Belle Isle Casino in Detroit.  Talk about a fun wedding, it totally rocked!  (and I mean that literally!)  Since this is just a “peek”  I’m going to cut it short and give you the “peek”:)

Beth, you look AMAZING!

**edited to add:  For those of you who care, (and maybe also the “ISO Club” from Jamaica:))  The pic above of Aaron singing was taken at ISO 12,800 on my 5D Mark II.  12,800!!!!  I LOVE my camera!

Lauri - That picture of Aaron singing is the best thing I’ve ever seen!November 23, 2009 – 1:38 pm

Tom & Barb Wedding Sneak Peek || detroit wedding photographer

When I first saw this photo, I instantly smiled and teared up.  For those of you who don’t know, Tom, the groom in this picture is my Dad.  He and Barb are so in love and it shows so much in this photo.   Dad, Barb, I love you both and am so happy for you.
